EGG IN A BASKET RECIPE by Chiara Tarenzi.

“V for Vendetta” is one of the most talked movies in history. It goes further than anyone can imagine and more, and won’t bore you for a second.

We’re in England, in 2015 and nothing is as it’s supposed to be. There’s general chaos, totalitarianism and revolution in the air. People stay in their homes, and every form of liberal art is repressed. No more freedom for the English, in change for an apparent peace granted by the government. But this regime isn’t here to stay, if V has a say in it..and no doubt he will change history.

V is a man who suffered in the previous civil war and is in search of Revenge (Vendetta). He has survived a concentration camp, where brutal scientists have used him as an experimental animal, and to cover up his wounds he wears Guy Fawkes’ mask. No wonder he’s mad! With his actions and plans and the involuntary help of Evey, he will, step by step, destroy the political system behind this disastrous society.

A hero? Yes, to almost every breathing soul. V cooks for Evey a humble egg in a basket..In the end, they fall in love. Was it the egg? Could such a simple recipe prove the humanity and loving feelings behind the mask of this man?

Let’s not spoil the end for you. For breakfast, make an egg in a basket for you, make it for your lover, and watch this colossal movie with bated breath!

PUERCO PIBIL RECIPE by Lauren Wille.

Before Mickey Rourke had work done and after Enrique’s “Bailamos,” 2003’s Once “Upon a Time in Mexico” stars them both with one thrill after another. A sequel to “El Mariachi” and “Desperado,” Antonio Banderas returns as “El Mariachi” with guitar-toting and gun-slinging action in the final chapter of the pulp Western trilogy.

The story picks up years after El Mariachi has been presumed dead. A CIA agent tracks him down and recruits him to kill General Marquez. Marquez murdered Mariachi’s wife and child and now has plans to assassinate the Mexican President under the instruction of drug lord Armando Barillo. Mariachi accepts the job not for money, but for honor and revenge.

With Latin favorites such as Salma Hayek, Eva Mendes, Cheech Marin, Banderas and Iglesias, this movie has it all. Oh, and of course, Johnny Depp.

So, are you a MexiCAN or a MexiCANT? Either way, enjoy Puerco pibil, a slow roasted pork. In the movie, Johnny Depp enjoys it with tequila and lime. But don’t mimic him too much, let the cook live.

And as Johnny Depp would say, “nothing fancy, just happens to be my favorite.”

LINGONBERRY PANCAKES RECIPE by Chiara Tarenzi.

The Cohen brothers have been producing movies for a very long time now and we wouldn’t want to forget a single one of them. So, let’s go back in time and stop in 1998 in a movie theater. Take a seat. What’s playing? Nothing else than “The Big Lebowski” in all its glory. People of all ages are laughing their butts off, so why shouldn’t we stay here for a while?

This movie is about and identity mix up. Apparently, there are two Jeffrey Lebowski kicking around. A dull mistake isn’t what the Cohen’s offer: in fact, one Jeffrey is an unemployed hippy, known as the Dude, while the other is a millionaire with serious problems on his back. The initial mix up is bond to lead to eventful days and chaotic scenes, dominated by kidnappers, a nympho wife, a toe in an envelope, and a mystery to solve.

When we went back in time I was feeling a little hungry so I couldn’t help noticing the food on the big screen. Lingonberry pancakes: yummy hot pancakes served in a diner to the possible kidnappers. Just the sound of it tastes good. Take a bite with the crazy cast of “The Big Lebowski”!

MEATLOAF RECIPE by Lauren Wille.

John Beckwith (played by Owen Wilson) and Jeremy Grey (Vince Vaughn) are two divorce mediators with two things in common: They are both committed womanizers and share the wild hobby of crashing weddings.

Along their journey of picking up chicks (who are aroused by the mere thought of marriage) with no intentions of starting a real relationship, these guys find themselves at odds with one another when John falls in love with the beautiful, but taken, Claire Cleary. They meet at her sister’s wedding, and being undeniably in love with Claire, John accepts an invitation for a long weekend at the Cleary’s summer home. Both John and Jeremy encounter some unfortunate, yet comical mishaps over the weekend, ultimately having their true identities revealed.

With John and Jeremy no longer speaking, John seeks the advice and comfort from fellow party animal, Chazz (Will Ferrell). As John walks up the steps to Chazz’s home, he is to his surprise greeted by Chazz’s mother, an old cranky woman with the mouth of a sailor.

Once more to John’s surprise, Chazz enters the room wearing nothing but a silk red robe. It’s been months since John has seen or spoken to Jeremy or Claire, and is still feeling the pain. To make matters worse, Jeremy is engaged to Claire’s sister, Gloria.

“Good. More for us.” Chazz says in between shouts of, “MOM! MEATLOAF!” John politely tells Chazz he doesn’t want any meatloaf, but the cries demanding the traditional meal continue. “I’m living the dream,” Chazz says as he explains to John he is living with his mother and continuously finding beautiful women. Moments later one of these women enter the room and share a passionate kiss with Chazz. Seeing that there is still hope for himself (and not knowing Chazz found this girl at her boyfriend’s funeral), John’s spirits perk up.

“You know what, I will have some meatloaf. Let’s have some meatloaf.”

“HEY MOM! THE MEATLOAF. WE WANT IT NOW. THE MEATLOAF!!!”

CHOCOLATE TRUFFLES RECIPE by Chiara Tarenzi.

What does Lansquenet, a quiet and bigoted town in France in 1959, need to move things up a bit? Nothing else than the opening of a small “chocolaterie” during one of the most respected and sacred times of the year: the forty days of Lent.

The owner, Vianne, and her daughter haven’t even had the time to settle down that fear and angst has already spread among the population. Her new ideas of liberty are projected to the up-coming future while Lansquenet is living in a bubble with no perception of time and space. The future still hasn’t caught up with the past there. Chocolate represents the prostration to sin.

But Vianne has something special: she knows chocolate, its darkest and most delicious secrets and how it can mess with people’s heads. By being so welcoming, she worms her way into people’s problems with just one glance at their object of unattainable desire. The effects are immediate. Vianne is able to change hopeless situations into passionate romances with no boundaries, and gives the people the strength they have always needed to stand up for themselves. At the end, also the most close-minded of the inhabitants that has plotted against Vianne from the very beginning kneels in front of chocolate’s immense attractive power devouring every single piece.

Its 121 minutes of pure delight for your eyes and…mouth!

Think about Johnny Depp, the intriguing gypsy, and chocolate together…is there a yummier match? Try the exceptional chocolate truffles, close your eyes and enjoy!
