It’s every girl’s dream to spend summer vacation working at a pizza place and meeting men. Well, maybe not the working part, but men? Heck yeah. In the summer of 1988, two sisters Daisy and Kat, along with their friend, Jojo, spend their summer serving pizzas and figuring out their love lives all in the town of Mystic, Connecticut.
Daisy is the kind of girl that can grab any guy’s attention. She drinks beer, has awesome hair, and will beat you in a game of pool. And this summer, she’s going for a guy with money. Lots of it.
Kat is headed to Yale in the fall and picks up a babysitting job for extra cash. She ends up falling for the dad she is working for, an architect who is twice her age. His wife is out of the country for the summer, giving Kat the perfect opportunity to creep in.
Jojo is all mixed up. Unable to face commitment, she leaves her fiancé at the altar. They stay together, but he gives her a fierce ultimatum: He doesn’t want to be intimate without a commitment. Either they get married, or their intimacy stops. Pretty cruel, right?
Despite the drama, the fame of Mystic Pizza continues to spread. Make it for yourself and maybe one day you can open your own parlor.
